no, the best political play is to reject the perceived comment (because you have to respond--even to false charges), but not reject the man (because, well, see clip in prior comment).
this buys time for the truth to get out. then, when the truth comes out, he's got a bullet for hrc. how could she be so stupid? how could her supporters be so stupid? how could they fall for faux news? again? or, if she knew... well... where's the integrity?
