I am told that the new version of the forum software should be available within the next two weeks.  This is a significant upgrade, which is necessary because the current version runs on asp.net 1.1 while the rest of the site runs on asp.net 2.0.

This upgrade should fix the current problems with avatars, images and smileys and improve the performance of the email notifications.  Video posting will still not be possible.

However, like all new software releases, you should anticipate some new bugs showing up.  Rest assured that I will deal with these as quickly as possible.  My goal is to have everything running smoothly by our official launch date of October 1.

I have adjusted some settings in order to improve the speed and performance of the site.  They seem to me to be working, but it could still be better.  I have found a nice little piece of software that I will be adding on some time this next weekend.  If it works here as well as it works on my test site (keeping my fingers crossed), then this site will be one of the faster sites on the internet.

I am still looking for a solution to the threaded view indent issue.  It needs to be a little bit deeper to make the threaded view really useful.  However, this may not get done until some time in October or even November.
